Amsterdam has a long history in academic medical education, starting from 1632 when the Dr. Nicolaes Tulp performed a public autopsy on an executed criminal, documented by Rembrandt’s famous painting. This performance marked the start of clinical training in Amsterdam. In the Amsterdam UMC, in which the VU and AMC academic hospitals joined forces since 2018, we are proud to continue this legacy.
In collaboration with Daiichi Sankyo Netherlands, we are for the second time welcoming you to get to know our center, and to get a glimpse of our continuing drive for innovation and medical progress. A unique scientific program is created with lectures from world renowned experts to provide an overview of our contemporary treatment possibilities in tertiary cardiological care, our research interests, and our extensive multidisciplinary collaborations.
We cordially invite you to participate in the Amsterdam UMC Centre of Excellence 2022 event and we are looking forward to a scientific and clinical exchange during stimulating discussions with you.
Prof. dr. Joris R. de Groot Professor of Cardiac Electrophysiology and Atrial Fibrillation at University of Amsterdam; Cardiologist/Electrophysiologist at Amsterdam UMC.
